    Part of gold-medal winning U.S. Olympic basketball team (1984)
    Point guard for the Dallas Mavericks (1987-88, 1989-91) and the Golden State Warriors (1988-89)
    Coached at Manchester University, Southwest Missouri State, Iowa University, University of New Mexico and UCLA

Why he might be annoying:

    Though he had an outstanding playing career in college, he was a bust in the NBA.
    After a promising start to his coaching career, he was considered a disappointment in Iowa.
    He was criticized for his handling of an Iowa player who was charged with rape.
    He recruited both of his sons to play for his college teams.
    He called an opposing player an 'asshole' in the handshake line after a game.
    He uses a lot of hair gel.

Why he might not be annoying:

    He hit seven three-pointers in leading the Indiana Hoosiers to the NCAA title over Syracuse (1987).
    He was so beloved in Indiana that Indiana Pacers fans booed when the team didn't select him in the draft (that Reggie guy the Pacers eventually picked worked out though).
    He gave his Olympic gold medal to his dad, who coached him in high school.
    He coached Manchester to an undefeated record before losing in the Division III championship game.
    He led UCLA to the Sweet Sixteen in his first two years there.
