Why she might be annoying
She had ten years of dance under her belt. Then she grew six inches in a year, and… hilarity ensued.
‘I grew up on top 40 pop.’ (Specifically the new class of Mouseketeers.) ‘I didn’t know what country music was, which is so funny because I grew up on a farm in East Tennessee.’
Her father is a sales manager for a radio station, while her mother works in marketing for Bible publications.
She also cites Shania Twain, Beyonce, and Kelly Clarkson as inspirations.
She is a close friend of Taylor Swift (with whom she performed on the ‘1989’ tour).
Why she might not be annoying
She wrote her first song, aged 12, in honor of her mother.
She was also a fan of Tony Bennett and Frank Sinatra.
She regards Keith Urban’s ‘Stupid Boy’ as her introduction proper to the genre.
Before settling on the music scene, she was thinking about a career in either cosmetics or veterinary medicine.
