The Resume

    (August 21, 1858-January 30, 1889)
    Born in Laxenburg, Austria
Son of Franz Josef I, Emperor of Austria-Hungary
    Archduke of Austria
Crown Prince of Austria, Hungary and Bohemia

Why he might be annoying:

    He abused alcohol and morphine.
    He may have had syphilis.
At his Mayerling hunting lodge, he killed his mistress, Baroness Mary Vetsera, then committed suicide.
The royal family had Vetsera's body smuggled out and secretly buried, then tried to claim that Rudolf had died of a heart attack.
The attempted cover up fueled rumors that the prince had actually been murdered.

Why he might not be annoying:

He was interested in natural sciences, at an early age starting a mineral collection that was later donated to the University for Agriculture in Vienna.
After the deaths, Emperor Franz Josef had Mayerling converted to a convent for Carmelite nuns.
The events at Mayerling inspired several movies and a ballet.
