The Resume

    (September 13, 2005-November 19, 2020)
    Paranormal/horror show
    Aired on WB (2005- 06) and later CW (2006 - )
    Jared Padalecki as Sam Winchester
    Jensen Ackles as Dean Winchester
    Katie Cassidy as Ruby
    Lauren Cohan as Bela
    Jim Beaver as Bobby Singer
    Misha Collins as Castiel
    Mark Sheppard as Crowley
    Created by Eric Kripke
Premise: Two brothers follow their dead father's footsteps as supernatural 'hunters,' roaming the earth combatting unholy monsters, demons, and gods

Why Supernatural (TV Series) might be annoying:

    Paris Hilton guest-starred.
It was basically a male counterpart to Charmed (with a little Scooby-Doo thrown in for good measure).
It has built a fetishistic pocket audience devoted to watching its pretty boy leads get tortured every season.
So apparently rock salt is the preferable demon repellent, over garlic and crucifixes (who knew?)
That being said, cast members have repeatedly been stumped as to how Ruby is a demon but somehow can eat French fries (which presumably contained salt).
Jeffrey Dean Morgan played the Winchesters' dad, despite being only twelve years older than Jensen Ackles.
Dean Winchester's cell phone number was given out in several episodes, prompting fans to actually call it (for a while, it led to a recording of Ackles saying 'If this is an emergency, leave me a message. If you are calling about 11-2-83, page me with your coordinates' - although it currently leads to a fax machine).

Why Supernatural (TV Series) might not be annoying:

It has a fiercely devoted fan-base.
In the show, Dean drives a 1967 Chevy Impala.
Jared and Jensen are actually best friends in real life (making their scenes as 'brothers' all the more moving).
It holds the record for the longest-running American sci-fi series - as of 2018.
Its soundtrack largely consisted of favorites from Eric Kripke's own classic rock collection (AC/DC, Bob Seger, Black Sabbath, etc.)
One episode saw Dean and Sam transported to an alternate universe in which they are mistaken for their own actors on the set of the actual show (they are forced to 'act the parts' and fail miserably).
Linda Blair guested on a season two episode (with loads of homage paid to - you guessed it - The Exorcist).
They animated the Winchesters into an already existing Scooby Doo episode in Season 13 (the crossover drew praise for the blending of two such different shows so seamlessly).
