Why he might be annoying:

After being a popular band for the majority of the 70's, they settled into the 80's as somewhat of a cult band, thanks to the popularity of punk rock.
    They experimented with drugs.
Some have said that they were 'Pink Floyd-lite.'
They became a shell of their former self when they started dabbling in sci-fi and Goth imagery.
They have a revolving door-type of system when it comes to members.

Why he might not be annoying:

'Don't Fear The Reaper' is one of the most recognizable classic rock songs ever.
They were parodied in Saturday Night Live for the use of cow bell in 'Don't Fear The Reaper.'
Although going through many members, they never broke up, they haven't flooded their fans with 'best of' albums and they've always, for the most part, stayed true to themselves by not selling out.
