The Resume

    (February 2, 1975- )
    Shoots left
Drafted by the New York Islanders as 23rd overall pick in the 1st round (1993)
    NHL debut (1995)
Member of the New York Islanders (1993-1998), Vancouver Canucks (1998-2006), Florida Panthers (2006-07), Detroit Red Wings (2007; 2010-2014), Anaheim Ducks (2007-08) and the Calgary Flames (2008-09)
    Two All-Star appearances (2003, 04)

Why he might be annoying:

His career plus minus total is minus 12.
In a game against the Colorado Avalanche, he skated up behind Steve Moore, punched him in the head, drove his head into the ice and then punched him again, breaking his neck.
In addition to breaking his neck, Steve suffered deep cuts into his forehead, right cheek and bottom lip.
He was suspended indefinitely for his actions against Steve Moore and faces criminal charges.
The Vancouver police department formally charged him in the incident and he faces up to ten years in jail (June 24, 2004).
It is pretty obvious that his actions were premeditated.
He was suspended for the remaining 17 games of the regular season, including the playoffs (March 11, 2004).
He has a history of 'losing it.'
His ignorance as a player is what keeps the NHL on the back burner behind the other sports.
The Canucks organization and players have come out and apologized for Todd's actions before Todd himself has apologized.
He has been suspended for the remaining 17 games of the regular season, including the playoffs (March 11, 2004). If Vancouver was to advance all the way to game 7 of the NHL Stanley Cup finals, he would miss a total of 45 games. In addition to the games he will miss, he might be suspended for more games come the 2004-05 season considering Steve Moore's condition.

Why he might not be annoying:

    He is left handed.
He scored two points (1 goal and 1 assist) in his first game in the NHL.
He has 14 points in 24 career playoff games.
He was among the leaders in all Western Conference players in All-Star voting (2004).
He is the Assistant Captain on the Canucks.
He went after Steve Moore for a previous incident when Steve gave Markus Naslund, Todd's team mate and good friend, a concussion, which made him miss three games.
ESPN hockey analyst Barry Melrose called him one of the five best hockey players in the world.
