Baseball Player

The Resume

Why he might be annoying:

He was considered a below average fielder during his playing career.
He is remembered for a meltdown he had in his office following a Royals loss, which saw him freak out in front of reporters akin to a child throwing a temper tantrum.
He threw objects around his office, one of which gave a reporter a nosebleed. Surprisingly, he wasn't fired over the incident.
His first move upon taking the Rays managerial job was removing any items in the clubhouse, which he felt were forms of comfort for the players (ie. couches, televisions).
His hard ass managerial style rubbed players the wrong way.
He guided the Devil Rays to a 113-196 record in his year and a half at the helm.

Why he might not be annoying:

He is the father of former major league outfielder Brian McRae.
He sustained a serious leg fracture, while playing winter ball in Puerto Rico, which in turn robbed him of his speed afterwards.
He was a member of the Royals first World Series championship team (1985).
He was the first African-American manager in the history of both the Royals and the Devil Rays franchises.
He later earned a World Series ring as a member of Tony La Russa's coaching staff in St. Louis (2006).
