The Resume

    (1975-1990)
    Born in London, United Kingdom
Alan Parsons, producer, engineer, keyboards, acoustic guitar, bass, flute, vocoder
    Eric Woolfson, keyboards and vocals
Recorded the albums 'Tales of Mystery and Imagination' (1976), 'I Robot' (1977), 'Pyramid' (1978), 'Eve' (1979), 'A Turn of a Friendly Card' (1980), 'Eye in the Sky' (1982), 'Ammonia Avenue' (1984), 'Vulture Culture' (1985), 'Stereotomy' (1986) and 'Gaudi' (1987)
Recorded the singles 'Games People Play' (1978), 'Time' (1981), 'Eye in the Sky' (1982) and 'Don't Answer Me' (1983)

Why they might be annoying:

Woolfson seems to have gotten screwed over when they named the band.
    They never performed live.
They never had a Top 40 single in their native Britain.
When their contract renegotiations with Arista Records stalled, they submitted an album of atonal instrumentals called 'The Sicilian Defense' to the label; Arista rejected the album and Parsons has said that The Sicilian Defense 'was never released and never will be, if I have anything to do with it... I hope the tapes no longer exist.'

Why they might not be annoying:

Despite featuring a variety of guest vocalists, their albums had a consistent signature sound.
The CD reissue of 'Tales of Mystery and Imagination' featured narration by Orson Welles that had been recorded for the original album but arrived too late for inclusion.
They had three platinum and three gold albums in the US.
Their instrumental 'Sirius' has been used as entrance music for several sports teams, including the Chicago Bulls, Detroit Lions and the football teams of the University of Nebraska, Iowa State and Kansas State.
