He originally intended to pursue a career in gymnastics.
He originally agreed to attend DePaul University, only to back out of the agreement and enter the NBA Draft after his high school graduation.
He had five children, three of them were born out of wedlock.
He frustrated his coaches by showing little effort to make defensive plays and rebounds.
He drew the ire of Knicks management by reporting to training camp overweight.
He was accused of soliciting his male chauffeur for sex.
He was accused of using racial epithets towards his chauffeur.
He named one of his children Eddy Curry III.
He is widely considered a bust by basketball pundits.

He was a highly touted player while attending Thornwood High School.
