Why The Home Depot might be annoying:

    Corporate color: Bright orange!
    Employees wear aprons in that bright orange shade.
    Employees are not allowed to bring their aprons home; even if it gets dirty the employee can't bring it home to launder it.
    Playboy featured a 'Women of Home Depot' issue featuring female employees without their aprons and all their other clothes. (2004)
    Their electronic payment system was targeted by hackers. (Late 2014)
    They are exclusive sellers of Martha Stewart's line of closet organizers and outdoor furniture.
    They previously used the slogan 'You Can Do It. We Can Help.'
    One meme featured a restrooms sign written with that slogan below it and the caption read 'Thanks Home Depot But I Think I Can Handle This Myself.'

Why The Home Depot might not be annoying:

    New company slogan: 'More Saving, More Doing.'
    Their policy of not allowing employees to bring home their aprons is simply an anti-theft measure. When an employee needs a new apron, he or she simply gets a free new one and the old one gets destroyed.
    They provide self checkout for customers.
    In addition to home renovation and construction supplies, they sell appliances, gardening supplies and plants.
    Customers affected by the breach were given one year free credit monitoring provided by a third-party company.
    The Playboy pictorial gave six female Home Depot employees what one of them called 'a once-in-a-lifetime experience.'
    Its Waterloo, Ontario, Canada location provides horse and buggy parking (!) for the Mennonite community located nearby.
    It holds a reputation for employing retired workers who are no longer active in their trades but provide a wealth of knowledge and expertise from their experience as associates.
    Stores often hold family-day workshops where little kids can build and paint hand-held construction projects and even have their own mini orange aprons.
    Their namesake foundation provides funds for various organizations, including Habitat for Humanity.
    They were one of the partners named by the Human Rights Coalition to help pass New York's same-sex marriage bill.
    It outranks competitor Lowes as the largest home improvement retailer.
    Its reason for using bright orange as the corporate color is that the shade is stimulating and energetic.
