Why he might be annoying:

He announced his retirement at Penske Racing's Christmas Party in 1992.
He was unable to defend his 1991 Indy 500 win due to injuries suffered in a practice accident.
He suffered a broken leg in a crash in 1985 that put him out of action for most of the second half of the CART season.

He won the CART title in 1979 with 5th place being the worst finish he had that season.
His driving style is 'intelligent and patient.'
He made a daring pass on the outside of Michael Andretti to win the 1991 Indy 500.
He is the second to win four Indy 500s.
He almost won a 5th Indy 500, just losing by .16 seconds to Gordon Johncock (1982).
He still works for Penske Racing, the team that fielded his final 3 Indy 500 winning entries.
