He is considered a skilled defenseman who plays a solid two way game.
He was a member of the Penguins Stanley Cup championship team (2009) and received a good natured ribbing from Pittsburgh sports icon Jack Lambert over wearing #58 in Pittsburgh.
He earned two Gold Medals at the World Junior Hockey championships (2006, 2007).
He was really good friends with the late Luc Bourdon, who was his teammate in Val-d'Or.
He initially planned on purchasing a motorcycle, but decided against it following Luc's death.
