Why Kalamazoo, Michigan might be annoying:

    For obvious reasons, the city is mainly known for its name.
    The name comes from a Potawatomi word, but no one is exactly sure what the word means.
    Gibson Guitars moved their headquarters from here to Nashville in the 1980's.
    Their thriving paper industry collapsed because their forests were logged out.
    Kalamazoo? More like Kala-no-zoo. Their zoo closed in 1974 (yeah, I know that pun was lame).

Why Kalamazoo, Michigan might not be annoying:

    It has been mentioned in several classic songs, like '(I've Got a Gal In) Kalamazoo' by Glenn Miller, 'I've Been Everywhere' by Hank Snow and Creedence Clearwater Revival's 'Down on the Corner.'
    The only time Abraham Lincoln ever visited Michigan was when he spoke at a rally in this city.
    They are home to the first pedestrian mall ever built in America.
    The American Foundation for the Blind rated it as one of the best cities in the country for the visually impaired.
    Although they do not have a real zoo, they have an 'Air Zoo,' which is a great aviation museum that features an indoor amusement park.
