The Resume

    (June 15, 1939-February 5, 2011)
Born in Liverpool, England, United Kingdom
Full name was James Brian Jacques
Wrote the ‘Redwall’ and ‘Castaways of the Flying Dutchman’ series
Hosted the radio show Jakestown on BBC Radio Merseyside
Died of a heart attack while undergoing surgery for aortic aneurysm

Why he might be annoying:

His father and brother share his first name.
He left school at age 15 to become a sailor.
He, his two brothers, and four other men formed a folk music group known as The Liverpool Fishermen at around the same time the Beatles were in the spotlight (talk about bad timing).
Other than the occasional supernatural element, there is no magic in the Redwall series even though it has been considered a fantasy series.

Why he might not be annoying:

His writing capabilities were clearly evident when he wrote a story about a bird who cleaned a crocodile’s teeth when he was 10, only to be caned by his teacher who thought an adult wrote it.
His first book, Redwall, was originally written for students at the Royal Wavertree School for the Blind in Liverpool where he worked as a truck driver to deliver milk.
Critics have compared the Redwall series to the Lord of the Rings by J.R.R. Tolkien.
He was a beloved figure in his native Liverpool.
