Why Wonder Years might be annoying
The narrator just wouldn't shut the fuck up.
They had Kevin get in a fight with Winnie because Danica McKellar had a growth spurt and was taller than Fred Savage. They hooked up again when they matched height.
The uber nerd Paul lost his virginity before 18 (impossible!).
Almost all of the main characters hit puberty during the shows run.
Despite the rumor, Marilyn Manson was NOT Paul Pfeiffer.
The series launched David Schwimmer's career.
Why Wonder Years might not be annoying
It was inspired by 'A Christmas Story.'
It contained more social commentary than most teen shows.
It was a teen show that adults could watch without tearing their eyes out.
The show opted for a poignant realistic ending where Winnie and Kevin go their separate ways.
Four episodes were nominated for Outstanding Writing in a Comedy Series Emmy's in a single year (1989).
It won the Best Comedy Series Emmy in its first year (1988).
The kid stars grew up to go on to very respected colleges.
It sparked a trend of premiering new series after the Superbowl.
The role of Winnie was a toss up between Danica and her sister Crystal. After Danica secured the role, they brought back Crystal as her rival.
