Why they might be annoying:

They were dropped by Warner Brothers Records for their unwillingness to tour to support their albums.
Their occasional concerts were described as 'amateurish to the point of sloppiness,' with endless instrument tunings, technical mishaps, debates over the set list, and friends wandering on and off the stage.
Kate called Montreal 'the communist-socialist society which I adore.'

Rolling Stone said of their debut, 'Not since Carole King's 'Tapestry' has the female voice been recorded with such unblemished intimacy.'
Kate said about not touring, 'We have families and friends and lives. We don't want to live on the road.'
After Kate was diagnosed with clear cell sarcoma, she started a fund for research and treatment of 'orphan' cancers.
