She lost the 1976 Best New Artist Grammy to the Starland ('Afternoon Delight') Vocal Band.
Before fading into obscurity, her only R&B chart was 'Turn To Me' a duet with Jimmy Ruffin (1982).

In the early '70s she explored theater with roles in the era's hot musical stage shows, including 'Jesus Christ Superstar,' 'Hair' and 'Godspell.'
'Right Back Where We Started From' reached the Top 10 in the UK in 1975 and was a Top 2 smash in the US in 1976. It was featured in the Paul Newman hockey movie 'Slapshot (1977)' and the remake of 'Starsky & Hutch (2004).'
'Lead Me On' hit #5 on the US charts (1979).
She performed in front of 18,000 people at the Hollywood Bowl as the guest of Chic's Nile Rogers (2003).
