Beauty Contestant
    (circa 1985- )
    Born in Howell, New Jersey
    Resided in Howell, New Jersey
Theater-performance major at Wagner College in New York City, New York
Won Miss New Jersey pageant (June 16, 2007)
Was targeted in a blackmail attempt to force her title resignation concerning suggestive Internet photos taken of her (June 25, 2007)
Was permitted by pageant officials to keep her title (July 12, 2007)
Photos of her in clothed but suggestive poses and actions were uploaded from her private Facebook web page, sent to her and state pageant officials and were signed 'The Committee to Save Miss America.'
The sender of the photos threatened to publish them if she did not resign her Miss New Jersey title.
She defended the poses and actions in her photos, claiming they were inspired by her environment as a drama student.
She delayed publicly releasing the photos despite giving many media interviews regarding the situation.
She was accused of possibly being involved in the attempted photo blackmail to increase her popularity and publicity.
Some people suspected her of publicly releasing only the least suggestive photos that were on her web page.
Some people were puzzled about or disappointed in the photos' contents once she made them public.
She stated she didn't know that her privately set Facebook account could be accessed by an unauthorized person or that someone might want to use her photos against her.
She decided to publicly release her photos before the blackmailer decided to do so.
She stated she felt vulnerable in releasing originally private photos to the general public.
Pageant officials decided that although the photos were in poor taste, they were not suggestive enough to require Polumbo's resignation.
She publicly apologized and thanked pageant officials for supporting her.
There was a state Attorney General's investigation of the incident.
The contents of her photos were not as explicit as those of other beauty queens such as Vanessa L. Williams and Katie Rees.
