The Resume

Birth name was Ernest Brown, Jr.

Father of Blake and Eric Lively
Stepfather of Robyn, Jason, and Lori Lively

Why he might be annoying:

In his early roles, he went by his birth name.
He changed his name after marrying talent agent Elaine Lively – but he did not take her maiden name, so he ended up using her ex-husband’s last name.
He and his first wife had decided to name their child ‘Blake’ if they had a son and ‘Blakely’ if they had a daughter; the baby was a girl, but they went with Blake anyway. (And apparently started a family trend, as Blake and husband Ryan Reynolds decided to name their oldest daughter ‘James.’)
In the ‘Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants’ movies, he portrayed the father of the character played by his daughter Blake.

Why he might not be annoying:

He served in the Marines during the Vietnam War, rising from lieutenant to captain.
He was an acting coach for Jason Priestley, Casper Van Dien, Allyson Hannigan, and Kristy Swanson. (Plus, his kids.)
He was the first patient to undergo ‘retrograde heart therapy,’ in which his own stem cells were injected into his heart to repair damaged muscle (2013).
