    (March 13, 1990- )
Born in New York City, New York
Birth name is Emory Isaac Cohen
Acted in 'Stealing Cars,' 'The Gambler,' 'Nor'Easter,' 'The Place Beyond the Pines,' and 'Beneath the Harvest Sky'

Best known for his acclaimed portrayal of Tony Fiorello in John Crowley's 'Brooklyn,' opposite Saoirse Ronan (2015)

Why he might be annoying:

He is typecast as smart-mouthed city kids and gang members.
He described his family home life growing up as 'crazy Jews' in an interview.
He trained for two years at the University of Arts in Philadelphia but dropped out to pursue an acting career.
He joked that he was more worried about getting 'hit on' than 'mugged' when he first moved to Philadelphia (he lived above a gay bar).
He claims to get so emotional when attempting to 'get into character' for his roles that he has to take two days off from rehearsal during pre-production of the films he works on.
When he was asked if he drew any inspiration from Saoirse Ronan or anyone else working on 'Brooklyn,' he said: 'They're terrific actors .... but quite frankly, no - I do what I do, I have my process, I've trained and uh - no - I've Iearned from other people.'
Many fans expressed disappointment that he didn't have more scenes in 'Brooklyn,' which selectively advertised to make it seem like they received equal screen time (when focus was mainly on Saorise's character and her story).

Why he might not be annoying:

He wears his heart on his sleeve in performances.
He was an enthusiastic baseball player in high school.
He is a fourth-generation New Yorker descended from Russian immigrant.
He realized he wanted to pursue theater after doing a High School production of 'Threepenny Opera.'
He has worked on several projects with Bradley Cooper. He counts his professional role models as Mark Wahlberg and Woody Harrelson.
He drew inspiration from Marlon Brando in 'On The Waterfront' for his work in 'Brooklyn.'
He was nominated for a Detroit Film Critics Society award for Best Breakthrough Performance, for 'Brooklyn' (2015).
He was nominated for a New York Film Critics Online award for Best Breakthrough Performance, for 'Brooklyn' (2015).
He ranked #20 in the Silver Petticoat blog's 25 Times Period Drama Actors Smiled and Your Heart Melted; just ahead of Clark Gable in 'Gone With the Wind' (2015).
He told an interviewer it was easier for him to play characters who were in direct contrast to his personality, as opposed to those closer to it, because it forced him to delve deeper into his 'inner self.'
