    He gave up eight runs over two and a third innings in his first major league start (1990).
    Some baseball pundits felt his decline was a result of being overworked in the earlier stages of his career.
    Many baseball fans remember him as being the first pitcher to lose a World Series game in Canada (1992).
    He struggled to stay healthy during the later stages of his career.
    He made a comeback three years after his last major league game with the 2003 Tigers, who finished the season with a 43-119 record.
    He shares his name with the murderer.

    He is left-handed.
    He earned a World Series ring with the Braves (1995).
    He, along with Tom Glavine and John Smoltz were considered the cornerstones of the Braves pitching rotation during the early 1990's.

    He replaced Greg Maddux as the starter in Game 4 of the 1995 World Series, pitching six solid innings in a return from injury.
