Why he might be annoying:

    He was passed over in the NHL Entry Draft, despite the fact he posted solid numbers at Harvard during his four year tenure.
    He did not embrace the lifestyle of professional hockey well.
    He describes himself as being too intense and competitive.
    His NHL career ended abruptly when he refused to report to the Whalers farm affiliate in Binghamton (1985).
    He told the Whalers he intended to pursue a career in the business world, which prompted the team to terminate his contract as a result.

    He had a standout four year career at Harvard.
    He was the first defenseman in NCAA history to win the Hobey Baker Award.
    He set a Harvard hockey record (since broken) for points scored by a defenseman in a single season.
    He was a member of the American men's ice hockey team at the Sarajevo Winter Games (1984).
    He and his brother, Scott are the first set of siblings in the history of NCAA men's hockey to earn the Hobey Baker Award.
