Died at age 45 of complications from hemolytic anemia

Why he might be annoying:

He was a journeyman player.
His scoring touch completely evaporated during the second half of his career.
He was acquired by a Mike Keenan coached team twice in the later stages of his career.
He was demoted to the minor leagues for the first time in his 14th NHL season.
His career ended abruptly after he refused to report to the Anaheim Mighty Ducks following his trade (1999).

Why he might not be annoying:

He earned an NHL roster spot at the age of 19.
He was a fan favorite during his tenure with his hometown Toronto Maple Leafs.
He was described as being an unselfish teammate who never turned down a chance to interact with fans.
During the hockey off-seasons, he would often work on his conditioning by playing soccer.
He cleared the air in the wake of the refusal to play for Anaheim by saying he requested a trade to play for either the Leafs or the Buffalo Sabres in order to be closer to his terminally ill niece (1999).
