Why they might be annoying:

    They were both child prodigies.
The Washington Post called their easy-listening music 'passionless, 'lifeless' and 'numbing.'
Their matching hair styles, glasses and outfits prompted Time to call them 'the Tweedle twins of the concert stage.'
Their later, wilder outfits were decribed by one critic as 'straight out of a Liberace fire sale.'

They became lifelong friends after meeting at Juilliard as pre-teens.
Before moving into easy-listening, they recorded several experimental records using 'prepared' pianos influenced by John Cage.
They recorded 22 gold and platinum albums.
