    Second Prophet and President of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints
    Founder of the Mormon colony in Salt Lake City, Utah
    He converted from Methodism to Mormonism.
    He had over 50 wives and fathered over 50 children.
    He believed that God wanted men to have many wives.
    When he was sued for alimony by one of his wives, he argued that he shouldn't pay since they were never legally married.
    He ordered the Mountain Meadows massacre, where 120 people were killed due to their hostility towards the church.
    He fought against the separation of church and state.
    He lost all of his property due to religious persecution.
    He encouraged people to be independent and self sufficient.
    Brigham Young University was named for him.
