He fell away from the Hebrew God and worshipped idols.
Apocryphal religious texts claim he became an evil sorcerer and controlled demons.
When two women claimed to be the mother of the same baby, he ordered it to be cut in half.

His name means ‘peaceful.’
He was known for his huge harem, which included 700 wives and 300 prostitutes.
Under his rule, Israel became a significant economic and military power.
He built a legendary temple in Jerusalem.
He was just kidding about cutting the baby in half (it was a trick to find out who the real mother was).
