    Won a silver medal as a light heavyweight at the Barcelona Olympics (1992)

    Became a set builder and construction worker in the film industry after retiring from boxing

Why he might be annoying:

    As a teen, he served 18 months in prison for robbing a jewelry store at gunpoint.
    His pro career lasted only one year.
    He died after suffering heat stroke in a hotel sauna.

Why he might not be annoying:

    Fellow boxer Billy Irwin said, 'I admired him because he was the oldest guy on the national team, but also the hardest worker.'
    He was one of the first boxers to come out as gay.
    He volunteered with the Toronto People with AIDS Foundation and served as grand marshall of Toronto's Pride Parade (1999).
