Composed three symphonies, twelve piano sonatas, 'The Poem of Ecstasy' and 'Prometheus: The Poem of Fire'

Why he might be annoying:

His second wife was one of his music pupils.
He had a number of nervous tics and had trouble sitting still.
He developed an atonal musical system influenced by his interest in mysticism and theosophy.
He had plans (never realized) for a grand week-long performance of music, dance and light in the foothills of the Himalayas that would somehow bring about armageddon and 'the birth of a new world.'
He sometimes thought he was God and tried to walk on the water at Lake Geneva.
British conductor Adrian Boult refused to perform his music on BBC radio, calling it 'evil.'
He died from a shaving cut that became infected.

Why he might not be annoying:

He was raised by his grandmother and aunts after his mother died when he was one.
He organized concerts with lights and colors projected to the beat and harmony of his compositions, anticipating the rock laser show by over half a century.
His funeral attracted so many mourners that tickets had to be issued.
After Scriabin's death, Sergei Rachmaninoff went on tour for a year playing only Scriabin's music.
Leo Tolstoy called his music 'a sincere expression of genius.'
His music, especially 'Prometheus,' was often used in sci-fi movies, frequently uncredited.
