Best known for his role as Virgil 'The Turk' Sollozzo in 'The Godfather (1972)'
Acted in 'Dark Intruder (1965),' 'The Bobo (1967),' 'The Night of the Following Day (1968),' 'A Town Called Hell (1971),' 'The Getaway (1972),' 'The Don Is Dead (1973),' 'The Deadly Trackers (1973),' 'Mr. Majestyk (1974)' and 'McQ (1974)'

Why he might be annoying:

He couldn't make up his mind about how he wanted to be credited. Besides 'Al Lettieri,' he was sometimes billed as 'Al Lettier,' 'Anthony Lettier' or 'Alfredo Lettieri.'
He almost exclusively played villains of either Italian or Mexican decent.
For some strange reason he was hired as a 'dialogue coach' for three movies, including the World War II Richard Burton/Clint Eastwood classic 'Where Eagles Dare (1968).'
He's the only actor credited as 'starring' in 'The Godfather' who name does not appear on the movie poster.
His last movie, 'Dublin Murders (1985),' came out 10 years after he died.

Why he might not be annoying:

He had a guest appearance in the first season of the long running lawyer TV series 'Perry Mason' (February 1958).
He was very good at playing the Hollywood 'heavy.'
He spoke fluent Italian.
He was 'killed off' by some of Hollywood's biggest stars, including Al Pacino, Steve McQueen and John Wayne..
Just as his career was taking off, he died of a heart attack at age 47 (1975).
