He goes by the name Rob, which keeps him from having the exact same name as actor and accused murderer, Robert Blake.
He is always booed when he plays the Los Angeles Kings in Los Angeles.
Los Angeles Kings fans joke that they are in the BB4L, Boo Blake 4 Life.
His wife has come out and said that he is hurt by the Kings' fans booing.
He is sometimes seen as too nice to be the dominate defenseman in the NHL.

To his credit, he busted his ass for the Kings for 12 years and was traded from the Kings for salary reasons.
He doesn't resent the Kings fans.
He is one of the premier hockey defenseman.
He has the ability to play on the scoring line or the checking line on any NHL team.
He scored 19 points in the remaining 23 games of the 2000-01 season, after being traded to the Avs from the Kings.
He was an Assistant Captain for the Avalanche.
Both he and Adam Foote made for one of the better defensive pairings in the NHL.
