Why he might be annoying:

In a 2010 deposition for a lawsuit over an alleged sexual encounter between a 13-year-old girl and 15-year-old boy at a Baptist summer camp he used to work at, he stated that a 13-year-old could give consent to sex. (Note: the age of consent in Oklahoma is 16.)
He called climate change a myth.
He said about homosexuality, 'I think it's a choice issue.'
When a court overturned Oklahoma's ban on same-sex marriages and civil unions as unconstitutional (2014), he said, 'Marriage is a state issue' -- while supporting a federal amendment to the Constitution to define marriage as between a man and a woman.
He opposed the ballot measure that legalized medicinal marijuana in Oklahoma (2018).
After the 2020 election, he said he would ensure President-elect Biden received intelligence updates despite Trump's refusal to concede, then immediately backtracked. ('I'm not in a hurry, necessarily, to get Joe Biden these briefings.')

Why he might not be annoying:

After his parents' divorce, he, his older brother, and his mother temporarily lived in an apartment over their grandparents' garage.
He called for the Trump administration to impose sanctions on Chinese officials responsible for human rights abuses in Xinjiang (2018).
After the Stoneman Douglas High School shooting, he said he was open to more comprehensive background checks for firearm purchases (2018).
After the George Floyd protests, he recommended a ban on police chokeholds (2020).
He apologized to his black constituents for questioning the veracity of election results from black-majority voting districts during the 2020 Presidential election.
