Why he might be annoying
His full name is the unwieldy Jean Benoit Guillaume Robert Antoine Louis Marie Adolphe Marc d’Aviano.
His marriage to Princess Josephine-Charlotte of Belgium was allegedly engineered by their mothers, Grand Duchess Charlotte and Queen Astrid, to foster closer relations between the two countries.
He and Josephine-Charlotte were both rumored to have been in love with commoners that they were not allowed to marry.
Why he might not be annoying
Pope Benedict XV was his godfather.
He was the first Grand Duke of Luxembourg to have grown up in the country.
He and Josephine-Charlotte were married for 53 years until her death.
He volunteered for the British army during World War II, participating in the Normandy landings and the liberation of his home country.
As a Colonel of the Regiment of the Irish Guards, he frequently rode behind Queen Elizabeth II during the annual Trooping of the Colours.
