    He is a Buschwhacker (A Cup driver who runs the lower-level Busch Series to collect extra money and track time).
    He hasn't been the same since he lost his long-time crew chief in 2002 (Jimmy Makar).
    He won the Most Popular Driver award in the Busch Series before winning his first race.
    He goes through long periods of inconsistency.

    He was diagnosed with Graves disease.
    At the season finale of the 1996 season, he won the race while his older brother Terry won the championship. They did a victory lap together after the race.
