Why he might be annoying:

He was paid $200,000 by a sponsor to quit smoking for six months in an anti-smoking campaign. He was photographed smoking not long after accepting the contract (1996).
He was involved in a bookmaker scandal, admitting to accepting money for information on weather and pitch reports (1988).
He was stripped of his vice-captaincy for harassing an English nurse with lewd phone messages (2001).
He was sent home from the world cup tour for testing positive for using a banned substance (diuretic). He blamed it on his mother saying that she gave the substance to him in order to help his appearance.
He was given a one-year suspension from first class cricket for the substance abuse.
While in India and Pakistan he would have his favorite foods such as baked beans and vegemite imported.
He is one of the least fit cricket players in the world.

Why he might not be annoying:

He is one of the greatest leg-spin bowlers in cricket history.
His first wicket in his first ashes series was labelled 'the ball of the century.'
He holds the world record for most test wickets (527 at an average of 25.42).
Cricketing legend/commentator Richie Benaud describes him as 'the best leg-spin bowler I have ever seen.'
Despite his lack of fitness, he is still one of the world's best slip fieldsmen. He possesses great agility and flexibility.
The nurse that accused him of harassing phone messages was charged with extortion.
He started The Shane Warne Foundation, a charity for the kids of Australia (2000).
