Why he might be annoying:

    He went to Marlins games as a child in order to study baseball techniques.
    He solely ate protein foods in order to build his muscle techniques.
    He hired Scott Boras as an agent coming out of high school.
    He was subject of a controversy over his entry-level contract, which was rumored to be signed after a league deadline (2010).
    He was overhyped by the Kansas City media as being the face of the Royals during his first few seasons with the team.

Why he might not be annoying:

    He was considered one of the cornerstones in the Royals succesful rebuild during the early part of the 2010's.
    He was an integral part of the Royals successfully ending their 30 year championship drought (2015).
    He was noticed by Major League Baseball scouts after he posted videos on YouTube of his home runs.
    He paid the tabs of several Royals fans following the team's first World Series berth in 29 years (2014).
    He elected to wear #30 for the Padres to pay tribute to his late Royals teammate Yordano Ventura.
