Defenseman for the Montreal Canadiens (1989-96), New Jersey Devils (1996-2000), Phoenix Coyotes (2000), Columbus Blue Jackets (2000-02), Chicago Blackhawks (2002-03), Dallas Stars (2003), Florida Panthers (2003-04) and the Pittsburgh Penguins (2005-06)

He became a journeyman player after he was traded from the Canadiens.
In the earlier stages of his career, he frequently earned an average of 200-260 penalty minutes a season.
He played on three different teams during the 2000 and 2003 calendar years.
His tenure with the Stars lasted a mere three games.
He allegedly made deragatory statements toward Matthew Barnaby's wife, which in turn led to acrimony between the two players.
He earned the unflattering nickname 'Cornelius' from Barnaby, referring to the 'Planet of the Apes' character, which soon caught on among Odelein's detractors.

He earned a Stanley Cup ring with the Canadiens (1993).
He was appointed an alternate captain during his tenure with the Canadiens.
He served as the first captain in the history of the Columbus Blue Jackets franchise.
Prior to spending the later stages of his career in the United States, he would often return to work on his family's farm in rural Saskatchewan during the off-season.
He tied Doug Harvey's Canadiens franchise record for most assists by a defenseman in a single game (1994).
