    She was diagnosed with schizophrenia.
    She was dead for about a week before her body was found.
    She refused to allow 'The Dialectic of Sex' to be reissued, saying, 'I don't feel a responsibility to bring out the book just because you want it. I'm very sorry.'
    She believed the nuclear family should be abolished and children should be raised in communal environments.

    She published 'The Dialectic of Sex' when she was 25.
    She predicted the use of artificial insemination in her book.
    'The Dialectic of Sex' became a feminist classic.
    She was a painter as well as a writer.
