Wrote 'Every Man in His Humour (1598),' 'Every Man Out of His Humour (1599),' 'Cynthia's Revels (1600),' 'The Poetaster (1601),' 'Volpone (1606),' 'The Silent Woman (1609),' 'The Alchemist (1610)' and 'Bartholomew Fair (1614)'

Why he might be annoying:

He dropped out of school.
Despite this, he was a know-it-all.
He went to jail several times for writing subversive plays.
He got drunk a lot.
He had a bad temper.
He killed a man in a duel.
He got out of his death sentence by pretending to be a priest.
The poet Alfred Lord Tennyson said reading his plays was 'like wading through glue.'

Why he might not be annoying:

His plays are funny and satirical.
He was quick with an insult.
When a poet challenged him to come up with a rhyme for 'Sylvester,' he responded by saying he had sex with the poet's wife (good answer!).
His father died before he was born, and his mother then married a man she didn't love.
He had a stroke and became paralyzed at the end of his life.
His drinking buddy was William Shakespeare (even though Jonson said he was 'full of wind').
