Why he might be annoying:

He replaced Ron Orbach in the role of Franz Liebkind in 'The Producers,' during the pre-Broadway run in Chicago.
He replaced Henry Goodman in the Broadway role of Max Bialystock in 'The Producers' only a few weeks after Goodman took over for Nathan Lane.
He virtually did a Nathan Lane impression as Max Bialystock.

Why he might not be annoying:

He played Santa Claus in the Radio City Music Spectacular.
He understudied Nathan Lane and took over many performances for him, but didn't complain when Goodman was hired to take over the role.
He received a Tony Award nomination for creating the role of Franz Liebkind in 'The Producers' on Broadway.
