Football Coach

The Resume

    (July 10, 1964- )
    Born in Toledo, Ohio
Head coach of football at Bowling Green (2001-2002), the University of Utah (2003-2004), the University of Florida (2005-2010) and the Jacksonville Jaguars

Why he might be annoying:

Now how can someone be named Urban?
He is known for not being the most outgoing of types.
He said that he would resign after the 2010 Sugar Bowl but a day later, he modified it to being merely a health-related leave of absence. He would eventually resign a year later.
During his tenure at Florida, thirty of his players were arrested for various offenses.
Despite saying that coaching at Notre Dame was his 'dream job,' he didn't accept a coaching position there when one was available.
He struggled adapting to coaching in the NFL, and clashed with both his players and coaching staff. He did not fly back with his team following a loss to the Bengals in Cincinnati, and was seen dancing inappropriately with a younger woman at his bar in Toledo, which went viral over social media days later (October 2, 2021).

Why he might not be annoying:

At only six years at Florida, he coached two National Champions, a Heisman Trophy winner in Tim Tebow and an NFL number one draft pick in Alex Smith.
He was named coach of the decade by both Sports Illustrated and The Sporting News.
He coached Utah to their first perfect season in over 70 years, becoming the first non-major school to appear in and win a BCS bowl game.
He is acknowledged for his mastery of the spread offense.
He was widely involved in philanthropy within the University of Florida.
He was fired by the Jaguars after it was revealed he verbally and physically abused one of his players (December 15, 2021).
