Why he might be annoying:

His unusual spelling of his first name was a result of his mother's dislike for the names Greg and Craig.
He earned the nickname 'Puff' for his notorious disappearances after causing commotions between teammates.
Although he was considered an excellent defensive infielder, his hitting skills were awful.
He was thrown out of a game after he was caught using a bat filled with superballs inside it (1974).
His memoir 'Balls' basically was known for his attacks on both Reggie Jackson and George Steinbrenner.

He set the American League record for career home runs by a third baseman.
He was a member of the Yankees during their 1970's dynasty years.
He and his brother Jim became the fifth set of brothers to hit a home run in the same game (1974).
He served as the Yankees team captain during the last few seasons of his stint with the team.
He holds the Major League record for most career assists by a third baseman.
