    Fought in the Seminole Wars, Mexican Wars, and Civil War
    Commanded the Army of the Potomac

Why he might be annoying:

    He had a reputation as a gambler, a drinker and a 'ladies man.'
    His Army Headquarters was described as being a cross between a 'bar-room and a brothel.'
    He suffered a terrible loss to the confederates at Chancellorsville.
    He failed in Civilian life and returned to the Army.
    He suggested to President Lincoln that the United States at war needed a Dictatorship.

Why he might not be annoying:

    He graduated from the U.S. Military Academy.
    He was a respected combat leader who aggressively sought out key points on the battlefield.
    He was given command of the Army of the Potomac by Abraham Lincoln (January 26, 1863).
    Despite his crucial role at Gettysburg and Chattanooga, much of the credit went to Generals Meade and Sherman.
