Composer

The Resume

    (October 1, 1639-February 25, 1682)
    Born in Nepi, Italy
    Baroque composer and violinist
Works include the oratoria 'San Giovanni Battista,' the instrumental serenade 'Sinfonia Il Barcheggio' and the comic opera 'Il Trespolo tutore'

Why he might be annoying:

He fled Rome after trying to embezzle funds from the Catholic Church (1669).
He fled several other cities after affairs with various noblemen's wives and mistresses.
He was eventually killed by hitmen hired by the brothers of a married woman he had seduced.
Although an influential composer in his day, he was eclipsed by Vivaldi.

Why he might not be annoying:

Queen Christina was comissioning works from him before his 20th birthday.
He was the first composer to note a crescendo in his scores.
An earlier murder attempt against him was allegedly thwarted when the hired killers heard one of his oratorios and were too moved to carry out their assignment.
His colorful life inspired three composers to write operas about him.
