Why he might be annoying:

Many people do not think that Dr. Scholl really existed.
He is primarily concerned with the non glamorous world of corns, calluses and bunions.
He had his five story headquarters in Chicago painted Yellow and Blue.
His original sales technique was to go into a shoe store and throw a human foot skeleton on the counter.
Dr. Scholl preach's that people should change shoes during the day and allow the shoes to rest two days before wearing them again.
He collected ancient shoes and had the world's largest collection.
He left his business to his nephew who coincidentally is also named William Scholl.
His company brought us ads that say: 'I am gelon like a felon.'

Why he might not be annoying:

He was one of thirteen children.
At 15, he designed and sewed a harness that required 132,000 stitches.
His first foot invention was an arch support called the foot-eazer and remained the company's biggest seller for 75 years.
A newspaper actually refused to run his ads because they featured naked feet.
He changed his work schedule to work at night, so he could attend the Illinois Medical College (Loyola) and Chicago Medical School.
As a young shoe cobbler, he realized that people abused their feet and did nothing to take care of them. Thus the idea was born.
He invented the buckled mule shoe and the clog.
By the time he was eighty, he employed 3,000 people and owned 423 retail stores.
Most people who knew him called him Billy.
Although his company makes over 1,000 different products, none were ever removed from production.
He made shoes in a wide range from mens 5½-16 and AAA-EEEEEEE and women's 2½-13 AAAAA-EEEEEEEE.
To promote his foot gear, he sponsored walking contests and sold pedometers (1918).
He created the Cinderella Foot contest in which woman would leave a foot print, and the most perfect would be judged (1916).
His credo was 'Early to bed, early to rise, work like hell and advertise.'
He flew on the maiden flights of the Graf Zeppelin, The Hindenburg and Pan Am's first Boeing 707 international flight.
He boasted not having a single foot ailment until he developed a corn in his seventies.
He claims women are the worst foot offenders, saying his business will be successful as long as women are more interested in fashion that common sense.
