When Vince Clarke was looking for a vocalist to collaborate with, he rejected the first 41 singers calling each of them rubbish, Andy Bell was #42.
Andy admits then, that when someone is with a band for a while producing albums and they get bored with it, is a disservice to themselves and their fans.
Vince says that is why they take long breaks before producing albums.
Because of there electronic synthesized sound, they have a reputation for being strange.
Their music is both exciting and relaxing at the same time.
