The Resume

    (September 1, 1957- )
    Born in Chennai, India
Established Delhi's first HIV clinic (1994)
Founded Naz Foundation (India) Trust, which raises the awareness of HIV/AIDS and gay rights (1994)
Awarded Chevalier de la Legoin d'Honneur (October 25, 2013)

Why she might be annoying:

Given her immense work with those infected with HIV/AIDS, one has to wonder how she hasn't get infected by the disease yet.
She prefers taking in HIV-infected children if they are orphaned and have no family left to take care of them, excluding those who have extended families.
She doesn't go to religious places like temples and mosques because she has a problem with organized religion.
She admitted to moments when she preferred living with animals over humans and have nothing to do with the latter at all.
Despite her work with gay people and advocacy for gay rights since the 90's, she had never attended a gay pride parade until the Alan Turing rainbow festival. (July 29, 2012)
She responds to any achievements of her activities by dancing (like she has nothing else to do).

Why she might not be annoying:

She bonded with people infected with HIV instead of merely taking care of them, including taking in HIV-infected children.
She works hard to instill the values of equity and fairness to the orphans she raises.
To be fair, she firsthand witnessed social discrimination in a temple during her childhood, when she saw the priest refusing to reward some women giving offerings while giving her family candy simply because her father was in the Air Force.
She has received death threats from religious extremists wanting to stop her work.
She even runs into issues with children-related NGOs because of her work with HIV and gay rights.
Through negotiating with the government, she succeeded in convincing the Delhi High Court to repeal Section 377 of the Indian Penal Code, which criminalizes homosexuality, by pointing out its violation of the Indian constitution. (2009)
