    Attended Dallas Baptist University and Texas Wesleyan University
    Drafted 1st overall by the Pittsburgh Ironmen in the 1947 BAA Draft

Why he might be annoying:

    He was the very first top draft pick in the history of the NBA to never play in the league.
    He declined to play for the team that drafted him even though he was the top pick.
    The Ironmen ceased to exist soon after his decision to not play for them.
    He also declined to coach in the college level in some Texas universities.
    He is unknown to many modern day NBA fans.

Why he might not be annoying:

    He served in World War II with the United States Army Air Forces.
    His achievement of scoring 116 points led him to be labeled as 'The Man of a Million Shots' in his last college year.
    He posted two Texas Wesleyan single seasons for points scored and completed free throws in which they stood for over six decades (1947-2009).
    He was the very first player to be drafted by an NBA team.
    He had an excellent coaching career as a high school basketball coach as Pampa High School won four state championships under his tenure.
