Two time All-Star (1959 and 1960)
Coach for the Seattle Mariners (1977-1980, 1982), Chicago White Sox (1981), Detroit Tigers (1985-1991) and the Florida Marlins (1993-1994)
Inducted into the Cincinnati Reds Hall of Fame (1977)
Died of a stroke at the age of 57
