He doesn't go by his birth name of Charles.
He never played a game at the professional level.
He was fired by the Browns after one season, after posting a 6-10 record (2019).
His tenure as Browns head coach was overshadowed by dissent in the locker room.
Some football pundits felt he went in way over his head taking the Browns head coaching job, due to his lack of experience.

He was a quarterback at the University of Alabama during the mid 1990's.
He served as an offensive coach in various capacities for the Cardinals, prior to landing with the Browns.
He was able to tailor the offense to the skill set of Baker Mayfield upon taking over the reigns of offensive coordinator.
He earned the Browns head coaching job based on his work with Mayfield the previous season.
He was described as being a hard working coach from former players and coaches alike.
