The Resume

    (October 27, 2015-November 10, 2015)
TV series about a pair of flawed but dedicated and talented detectives searching for a serial killer on the Sunset Strip in 1982 Hollywood
Aired on ABC in the Fall of 2015
Starred: Jeremy Sisto, Gabriel Contreas, Ed Westwick and Erika Christensen

Why Wicked City might be annoying:

It flopped badly and was cancelled after only three episodes.
In the first episode in particular, it really hit you over the head with early 80's music, much of which had not been released by the time of the events of the show.
It probably would have done better as a miniseries.
The sex and the violence was very and in some cases unnecessarily graphic.
It was set in 1982 for no particular reason.
Not a whole lot of attention was paid to getting the details of the time period correct and the very look of the show almost came across as a parody of the 80's.
The two cops headlining the search were respectively; corrupt and adulterous and supercilious and egotistical.
The show's concept of real police work was ludicrous.
With the exception of the sensational Erika Christensen, the talented cast, regulars and guest stars stuck with flat, one-dimensional characters turned in flat, one-dimensional performances.
Who was supposed to like this?

Why Wicked City might not be annoying:

The five unaired episodes of the eight produced were released on Netflix.
Overdone it might have been, the music was still great.
The official poster (pictured) might have been the coolest in TV history.
The pilot opened with the music of Billy Idol who also performed live in the same episode.
    Very, very cool cars.
There were many moments of genuine tension and excitement.
Besides Billy Idol, several 80's musical stars appeared including Def Leppard and Joe Walsh
Although it was a bit of a cliffhanger, the final episode served as a series finale very well.
